Catherine Davey

Piano/Music Theory

Catherine studied both piano and cello at The Royal College of Music, Junior Dept from the age of 12.
Her piano tutor Thalia Myers encouraged her to explore contemporary works by composers such as Timothy Salter and Gabriel Jackson as well as better known classical pieces.
She enjoyed teaching young pupils privately and preparing them for ABRSM
exams as well as working for Redbridge Music Service from 2012 where as a
peripatetic music teacher, she taught cello and piano at several primary schools across the borough of Redbridge. Alonside with her teaching career, Catherine has done a lot of work as an accompanist for ABRSM exams, which is truly valuable for CSOMAA.
Whilst teaching, Catherine gained the invaluable experience in delivering fun and engaging lessons to music students of primary school age whilst ensuring their technique continued to improve longside their general musicality.
Catherine is a fun, upbeat, experienced and very well organised tutor.
